Last night my accepted her Masters Degree!!! We're all so proud of her and had a lot of fun celebrating. And to top it all off the graduation ceremony wasn't overly boring.

a few things...

1. I finally posted pictures from Europe. Check them out. Here's one of my favorites. This is Brian taking in the view on our awesome bike ride through Amsterdam. It might have been our best day ever!


2. Brian has been playing a lot of grand theft auto. So much, in fact, that I had a dream last night that he was shooting people in the head. This was after he was doing drugs with Sonny and one of the characters.

3. NBA playoffs are AWESOME this year!!

4. As I was walking to work this morning some dude was yelling, "hey shorty. look at you in your hoody. you're cute. blah blah blah" So obviously I ignored him. But as I walked right past him he yelled, "oh, you're racist. all that pretty and no balls." Isn't that nice? hahaha

5. I'm looking forward to this weekend. No visitors, no traveling. And I get to meet Mike and Anna's new baby, Mirabelle!

and we're back...

I was going to wait until I posted pictures to write about the trip, but last night there were some technical difficulties. The internet wasn't working, as usual, and flickr uploader was stalling... I almost punched someone. And today I'm still so tired from jet lag this post will be a little lacking in detail, but I promise to give more information when we get the pictures up.

The trip was amazing! We had the best time. It was so cool to see Germany with the whole family. The weather was perfect the whole time, aside from a little rain.

So, Amsterdam was really cool. We rented bikes and rode all over the city, stopped in the park for a beer and some people watching. The food was super good, though we didn't eat traditional dutch food. Our hotel room seemed bigger than our apartment. I was actually really sad to leave such a cool city.

When we got back to Dresden the whole family was there. Sunshine and Janko were perfect hosts. They had everything planned out really well. The trip went really smoothly and everyone got along great. (well aside from when patty, Oliver and I wanted to eat and no one else did. haha) So the first night we sat outside at a really cool brewery near Sunshine and Janko's place. The restaurant overlooks the Elbe River and was just beautiful. Yes, the waitress did spill pasta sauce all over Janko and Oliver, but isn't that part of the memory?

On Monday the boys (minus Janko) and I went to Prague. We were a little worried about the day when we went to the worst museum in the whole world. Oliver called it "the worst waste of space ever." What he meant was that the building itself was beautiful, but the Czech people decided to fill this amazing space with taxidermy and foot exhibits. Seriously, the worst museum I've ever been too. The day got better when we went to lunch in a really cool square in the center of town. Then we walked uphill towards the castle and then up an 18 story tower. Needless to say we were exhausted, so we decided to have a few beers in the same cool square. Time got away from us and we ended up running, uphill, to our train. I would estimate that we got onto the train with about 30 seconds to spare. hilarious!

We went to a super cool fortress, with unbelievable views of the country side. Wait till you see the pictures. This place was amazing. And we pretty much decided that Sunshine and Janko should get married there. :)

Then on Wednesday, the 8 of us hopped into a family van and drove to Berlin. We took a bus tour through the city, which was super cool. We hopped off at the American Embassy, aka Starbucks, and saw the Bradenberger Bridge (spelling?). That night Uncle Chris headed to the opera and the rest of us went to a nice dinner downstairs from our cool hotel. It was so nice to sit outside, I love the spring. Before heading home we stopped by the Jewish Holocaust Memorial, the wall, and checkpoint charlie.

Friday was our last day so we did a bus tour of Dresden. Janko's mom, Inez, came with us. (Brian and I had to get married before our parents met and they all lived in the same state.) Dresden is really a beautiful city. That night we went to the Opera. The Sempre Opera house is gorgeous and supposedly one of the nicest in Europe, which is saying a lot. I was afraid of falling asleep during the show, but thankfully didn't. Rather than a traditional opera story, it was just two singers and pianist. Really, really cool.

I was happy to be heading home on Saturday, but it always hard to go back to real life after such a long trip. I'm so thankful that we got to go and so happy that I got to experience everything with Brian.
