I'm in sewing mode again. Right now I'm making a cute little stuffed owl for Mirabelle. It's pretty cute! Since today is slow at work I'm making some patterns for tote bags and quilts. Of course George likes it when I'm doing crafty stuff. It means he can snuggle w/ fabric and eat ribbon!

and it's almost over!!!

Last summer Brian and I had lunch in Bryant Park all the time. This year we've gone maybe twice. So today I ate by myself in the park and since it's just a beautiful day I decided to treat myself to some vanila ice cream w/ peanut butter cookie crumbles from Wichcraft. Soooo good! I'll most likely be sick but it's totally worth it.

Bag Lady

When I was leaving work yesterday I packed up all my grocery bags. I keep them to recycle or use for doodie bombs. So I walked home with this bag, full of bags. I'm such an old lady.


Then when I got home George promptly started attacking them. He got ahold of this bag and plopped right on top of it so I couldn't take it away from him. He's so cute!

Obsessed

I bought this book of crosswords in the airport in Texas and since then I've been OBSESSED with crosswords. It's reached a pretty embarrassing point. When Brian tries to grab the book out of my hand and I almost cry. this morning I was working on a puzzle and almost missed my subway stop. The most embarrassing thing, I dream about crosswords.

Vacation is awesome

Raina, Wendi and I had a blast in Miami. Despite some rain, the weather was great. The ocean is so warm and beautiful down there. We dived through waves, ate lots of yummy food and met some new friends. I even got a little bit of a tan. (I must emphasize little because I'm still butt white).

Grandma Patsy and Brian

We took a pretty awesome steamboat ride through the Bayou.

Brian and I took a trip to Louisiana and East Texas for Grandpa Jim's funeral over the weekend. It was really nice trip, despite the circumstances. It was so cool meeting all of Brian's family and seeing his grandparents house. His grandpa was amazing and chronicled his entire life in these awesome scrap books. We loved reading all of his stories and seeing pictures of his childhood, life in the air force and with his family. The viewing and funeral were really perfect, the whole weekend was a great celebration of Grandpa Jim's life.

I also had a really good time visiting with Grandma Patsy. I can see where Patty gets her sweetness. I'm blessed to be a part of that family.

I'll post pictures soon. We went on a badass steam boat ride through the bayou.
