It is hard to believe that today is the last day of 2008. Time really flies when you get older. This was a great year! Sonny moved here, which is probably one the best parts of the year. The other best part of the year... OBAMA!!! It is so fucking rad to have a president in office that I care about and have faith in. Other rad things about this year, I starting doing crafts and sewing again. It's so cool to have a hobby and have that feeling of success when I finish making something. And this year I was lucky to travel to Park City, LA, Austin, Europe, Shreveport, Miami, the Catskills, St Thomas, and Las Vegas.
One very cool thing about 2008 is that I can pinpoint the absolute best day of the year. April 25. Brian and I rode bikes through Amsterdam. We had so much fun. I wish I could relive that day over and over again.
Update... I almost forgot to mention the other best day of the year, April 6. (I really liked April) On this day I got to see all of my babies in one day! It was so fun. Audrey pointed to cousin George on a quilt, Dom told me I was his best friend, and Shae wouldn't leave my side.

Now I have to make some resolutions to make 2009 great. But first, here were my resolutions for 2008 (with updates):
1. go to the gym and get cute for me! (I went to the gym and I'm very cute. But didn't really keep that up)
2. eat healthier and drink less alcohol. (not so much. I drink a lot)
3. keep going (restart) guitar. forget voice (fail)
4. have a positive attitude about work and keep doing things to make me happy outside of work. (all and all I was good with this one. I was positive about work until about a month ago)
5. be crafty. keep cross stitching. start a new quilt, finish Dominic's quilt. (did not finish dom's quilt and now he's way too old for it. But I was very crafty this year and made a lot of cool things.)
6. get out of the house more and explore this rad city. (this I definitely did. we found so many cool places to hang out this year and discovered one thing I love doing, walking across the brooklyn bridge)
7. find a hair dresser in NY. (check. though I still miss Shelly)
Okay now for 2009:
1. keep crafting. I want to knit an afghan and make 2 quilts. Dom's quilt will now become Jen's baby's quilt.
2. be better at keeping in touch with my friends. I miss them all so much, but I'm horrible about calling. To think I used to love talking on the phone is nuts.
3. eat better, drink less and live a much healthier life. No more beer every night. And no more lazy pizza ordering because I don't to make dinner.
4. be positive about myself. I've been very hard on myself lately. I don't like the way I look, talk, act, nothing. So for 2009 I'm surrounding myself with optimism and I'm accepting me for me.
5. work is not my life and I'm not going to let it make me sad or stressed out. see above.
6. be nice to Brian all the time. I can be very bratty and have gotten easily annoyed lately and that's going to stop.
7. This one will make a lot of people happy (namely my mom and Patty) Get Pregnant! (sorry sonny)
And I'll sign off with my two favorite dudes. Happy New Year!!!

Merry Xmas!
Merry Xmas! Brian and I are excited to spend the holiday with our NY family (minus Wendi and Ryan). We're going to Keens for dinner tonight and tomorrow Raina, Jesse and Sonny are coming over for brunch, mimosas and presents. It will be a fun and relaxing weekend.
Of course I am feeling very homesick for my mommy, but my home is here with Brian and George and for that I'm very happy. I was so emotional the other night when George was cuddling with us on the couch and I looked around the room and thought, "i'm so happy that this is my life." I don't think Santa could deliver anything better than that.

Happy Birthday, Mom!!!
This was a great year for my mom. She finished her masters program! I'm so proud of her. I miss her so much and especially on days like this. I wish that I was there to celebrate her birthday with her. I love you, mommy!

happy birthday
My mom's friends "kidnapped" her today and took her to Disneyland to celebrate her birthday! How awesome is that?

Family Photoshoot
On Saturday night Raina, Jesse, Brian, Wendi and I went to Ryan's studio for a family holiday photo shoot. We made ugly xmas sweaters to wear and took a ton of hilarious pictures. Ryan was so nice to set the whole thing up and let us take advantage of all his fancy gear. Good times!!
