One of our fabric vendors told me the new cool phrase her kid's use is "that's the titties"...
Mammoth was the titties, yo! Aside from the fact that we were all sick. Now that's Sonny's 30 his bones get tired from skiing and he has to be in bed by midnight. We went to a couple of "clubs" filled with drunk 21-year-olds and we felt really old and really sober. The best was the stripper pole contest at club fever...good times. It was beautiful up there. The weather was perfect!!
Here are some pics from my phone. But you can check some more out at bionicbrian, duh.
OH NO...I'm 30!!!!!

ps...the title is from "hustle & flow." B and I watched it last night... good shit, man!

i love you heidi...
Project Runway is so good. Last night was the reunion special and it really opened my eyes to how crazy some of those people are...
Daniel Franco is a nut job. He talks in such an annoying way. I don't know why they let him on the second season...thanks to the spaghetti monster that he got eliminated early in the game. Oh, and the clip of him telling off Santino on the runway. How lame? And Guadalupe...um...what drugs is she on? Brian said her friends were probably laughing at her. I said that they are probably on drugs too and knew what she was talking about. koo koo...

Remember that scene in the Royal Tennenbaums when Richie...
Is there anything in the world more frustrating than putting together IKEA furniture? Maybe putting together IKEA furniture w/out all the correct parts.
Brian was busy working on IM stuff last night so I decided to put our new dressers together. Just thinking about the pieces laid all over our livingroom floor makes me want to punch the computer. Needless to say I failed in my mission. Not because I'm inadequate but because IKEA doesn't have good quality control in their Czech Republic warehouses. The dresser is missing a 2 tracks, 4 bolts, 2 little wood pieces, and 4 anchor thingys. So now what? We have to drive all the way back to freakin' IKEA to return the dresser and/or pick up the missing components. Are you kidding me?
We almost had a murder/suicide on our hands last night. Because if there was an IKEA exec in our house last night I would have killed him. Then, for fear of prison, I would have killed myself. Then Brian probably would have killed himself because he would be so sad to see me dead.

looking forward to...
NBA All-star weekend!! I haven't been watching very much basketball this season. I'm hoping the all-star extravaganza will get me excited for the 2nd half of the season. This is when things will start to get interesting. And, hello, the Clippers are going to be in the finals... we have to start watching that. Though my money is still on the Pistons because they kick ass. It's just an easy bet.

there's hope for you, pasadena...
I found a Rite Aid and it rules!!! We live about 5 blocks from a ghetto Savon and it sucks! So Brian and I were stressed that we'd have to go there for our pharmacy, random shit needs... and Savon doesn't even have an ice cream bar. But last night I went to a Rite Aid that's actually pretty close, I get to drive up and down the streets of Bungalow Heaven to get there. Okay so this Rite Aid is humongous (my new favorite word) and nice. And we found a grocery store that's pretty nice too. So we're all set. Now all we need is an Open Sesame and a Taco Surf.
I think we're going to be good friends, Pasadena. Well at least until summer when you get up to 100 degrees or so...

where in the world is the world wide web?
My email and internet were down until 2pm today...I've never felt so lost. I couldn't do any work or read any news or check any email. I felt so out of the loop. But now it's back and I'm happy. Yay for the world wide web!

channel 4, where are you?
So we're officially (very exhausted) Pasadenaites. The actual move was pretty easy, thanks to Carrie, Ken and Jacqueline. Now comes the unpacking. I got a lot done yesterday but the place is still a mess. It's so hard to figure out where to put everything. And don't even talk to us about the television/living room situation... Brian and I do NOT like change when it comes to our viewing entertainment.

pack schmack
packing sucks... Right now I'm sitting in what used to be our relaxing living room, and I'm surrounded by junk. The boxes to my left are full of "desk junk", movies, games, etc. The boxes in front of me are full of books...jesus we have a lot of those. And I'm starring at big black trash bags full of my clothes. (i have a lot of those too) Behind me is more junk: sheets, towels, sewing junk, kitchen junk. Last night I was packing a vegetable steamer I think I've used ONCE the entire 3 years we've lived here. And I'm already at the point where I don't even care what I'm packing. Everything is getting thrown into boxes to be dealt with while we un-pack.
I hate this!!!

R.I.P. Rebecca
The tortilla chip is not something I think of as an invention. In fact, I thought it had "always" been around, originating in Mexico. But on Jan. 19, Rebecca Webb Carranza, the mother of the tortilla chip passed away. She worked at a Los Angeles Tortilla Factory in the 40s when she decided to fry the discarded pieces of tortilla for a family party...GENIUS!!!! I feel honored to share her name.
Now please bow your head in silence...we owe it to Rebecca.

i ain't standin' up...
Friday night we went on a Gondola ride with Kristie and Curtis. (how romantic?!) The weather wasn't exactly perfect for the occasion...it was practically raining from all the fog and it was super cold. We debated even getting on the water, but ended up having a lot of fun. I can't believe I've lived in Long Beach for so long and never been on the gondolas. (And now we're moving...waaaaa.) The night ended with a game of Taboo. The girls came out on top, obviously. The losers, Brian and Curtis, were supposed to bring breakfast in bed to us but B was so hungover he couldn't get out of bed the next day.
On Saturday we went to stinky, yet yummy, Ecco's. I got an amazing purple ring from a coin machine. Then Target, then Judy's, then Uhaul for boxes. By the time we got home we were way too exhausted to pack.
Sunday...I bought a wedding dress!! It was the first one I tried on and I LOVE it. Then to top off the day of extravagant beauty I got a facial from Tori at Spa Sidney. Very nice. Call her to make an appointment NOW!

Dear Amazon:
I love you. You make it so easy to buy the things I need. And with your super saver shipping I'm forced to buy the things I want...I love that kind of pressure. But today, Amazon, you out did yourself. I pre-ordered the new Belle and Sebastian cd and you knew how sad I was that it wouldn't be in my possession until Tuesday. So you put the entire cd in my "digital locker" and allowed me to listen to the album in it's entirety. Wow! When did you get sooo amazing, Amazon?! I'm listening right now and couldn't be happier.
Now...what can you do about getting me tickets to the sold out show at the Wiltern?
-a devoted customer
