Brian and I headed over to Brooklyn on Saturday to watch some basketball with Jennifer and Trinity. While we waited for the L in Union Square we saw these awesome buskers (Brian snapped the photo). They sounded great and put a huge smile on everyone's face. It's stuff like this that makes me really love living in NY.

When we got onto the train we were trying to guess how much money they make for a couple hours work. We gave them a buck and saw probably 10 other people drop some bills in their case. So Brian was saying $500 in one day. I think that could be about right and they deserve every penny of it!

I'm starting an Etsy shop this weekend! I need a name. Any suggestions? I'll be selling all the crafty crap I like to make. Cross stitches, stuffed animals, quilts, bags, etc.

Been home 1.5 hours. Already had some cookies and now drinking a beer. Oops.

day 3.5

I cheated a little bit last night and had some hot chocolate. But I figure that is way better than beer and cookies. And I was thinking, is it okay if I make oatmeal cookies? Oatmeal is good for you, right? We can just pretend that all the sugar is like a magical good-for-you sugar.

Also, there is a rasta guy that unloads shipments at the grocery store by our place. Every morning when I walk by him he says "good morning. peace and love." I love that. It's such a nice thing to hear on your way to work.

day 2.5

Today is day 2.5 with no alcohol and no sugar. I can't explain how badly I want a glass of wine and a cookie. Infact, I am now the foster mother of Wendi's KitchenAid Mixer which makes this whole no sugar thing really hard! I want to put that baby to use.

HAPPY SPRING!

Yay! Today is the first day of Spring! I won't even mention or complain here that it was snowing when I woke up. Instead, here is a picture from last April when we were in Amsterdam. I'm looking forward to seeing a million of these flowers around the city, even if I have to search them out. Happy Spring, people! Today is a good day. (well, you know, except for the whole snow and rain thing)

It's going to be 50 degrees today. There are buds on the trees. George is watching the birds feed on those buds. Soon he'll watch the birds sitting on the leaves. Good times, people.

I have been so tired this week. Do you think it's the time change? I feel like everyone is tired. Brian and I can hardly pull ourselves out of bed in the morning. I'm so happy that it's the weekend and I can sleep in and be lazy. Well on Sunday I'll be lazy. Tomorrow I'm helping Wendi pack up her apartment. And tomorrow night Davey, Brian's brother, is coming over for dinner. I suppose I can be lazy tomorrow night while Davey and Brian are playing video games.

Now I know this is the most boring post ever but I just feel like I mostly post pictures here. Since I'm in the winter funk I'm thinking of ways to boost my mood and blogging more is one of them. So suffer you will.

He's awesome!

Last seemed so very long. Now that it's Monday I'm worried that this week will be the same. It's not helping that I'm so tired I feel brain dead. And the morning started off with my hair dryer catching on fire. (!)

I did have a good weekend though. I started a new quilt and Brian and I took a nice walk through Central Park. The weather was a little gloomy but since it was warm the park was full! It was awesome to see the rollerskaters and my favorite street performers. I am so looking forward to Spring/Summer.

Dear Mother Nature-

You suck! I'm so over winter! I don't want another snowstorm. I want it to be warm enough to take nice walks at night. I want to wear flip flops. (Side note, I don't like the term "snowstorm." Snow is so much more calm than rain. It's soft when it hits your face. It's quiet. It's beautiful. So storm doesn't really seem like the correct way to describe it.) So take the snow away. Make it warm again. Also, can I talk to you about how unfair it is that Brian is in sunny Palm Springs and you gave me a blizzard! Lame, Mother Nature, lame!
