Brian, Doobo, Cesca, Kristen, Steve and I went out on 2nd street tonight. BJ's, Blackberry Mojitos at Biggs and the Murphys... After the festivities we walk Cesca back to her empty home (Dan's in Chico). I tell Cesca we're going to make sure no one is inside waiting to rob her... Brian, the idiot, says "oh what about Watcher in the Woods." Cesca and I both look at him shocked, "WHAT? why did you just bring that up?" Brian obviously didn't know what the effects this movie has on Cesca. It's a freaky movie... and we left her home alone. oh man...

thankful
Brian and I have a lot to be thankful for this year. 2005 has been good to us. New jobs (Brian just got hired at Yahoo!), new car, marathons, grey hair and now we're getting married and moving to LA! wow... i'm tired just thinking about it.
Thanksgiving was nice. Our mellow day started off with some relaxing, coffee and french toast. We took a nice walk in the morning. The weather was perfect and you can't beat the views on Ocean. We went to my aunt and uncle's house for dinner. They have a new yellow lab puppy, Jack Jack...the cutest thing EVER!! Funniest part of the afternoon was Shae yelling, "help me. help me" everytime someone picked her up. That kid is cute but such a handful. I can't believe she's almost three. After dinner Abby, Carrie, Brian and I went to see "harry potter." it sucked.
dude...i can't believe it's Christmas time already.

wha' happened?
Top five things about Seattle...
1.) We got engaged!! I'm now a bride-to-be. It's really weird. After Brian popped the question (which was quite literally "popped"...i had NO idea it was coming) we just laid down and freaked out for awhile. We got really nervous and giddy. The rest of the weekend we would call each other "fiance" and then we would bust up laughing. too funny. I'm a lucky girl...
2.) I think it was last season on "inside the NBA" that Ernie said, "wha' happened?" Brian and I almost lost it when we heard that...it was so funny and uncharacteristic of Ernie. Ever since that aired we have been racking our brains trying to remember what movie that came from. We say it to each other ALL the time and can never place it. This weekend we found the source... Fred Willard in "A Mighty Wind." I can die now...
3.) Death Cab for Cutie was amazing!!! They were especially amazing considering it was their song, "i will follow you into the dark," that inspired the proposal. I LOVE that song now...
4.) Experience Music Project was so cool. check it out here. It is an interactive music museum. They have an awesome Bob Dylan exhibit right now...so cool. The best part was the "sound lab." You go into sound booths and follow interactive prompts that teach you how to play the guitar, drums or keyboard. My favorite was the vocal booth. Recording yourself sing is so fun!!! Especially when no one can hear you. :)
5.) We went to dinner after we saw "Walk the Line" on Saturday. (I love Johnny Cash. "i shot a man in Reno, just to watch him die." wow.) Dinner was at The Pink Door, a restaurant we couldn't find. Brian asked some guy at a bar where it was, "um, it's that pink door right there." oh, thanks. we felt stupid. But once inside the restaurant we were stoked. It was so cute, warm and friendly. The owner bought champagne for us because "she like our vibe." Our waiter was very sweet and laid back. (his girlfriend lives in Claremont, but she's studying in London right now. They're working through the long distance thing.) The food was amazing and the Tiramisu put us over the edge. There was a really cool local band playing in the background...the mood couldn't have been more perfect.

seattle and stuff.
so Brian and I are going to Seattle this weekend. I'm really excited. Hopefully we run into cool seattle people like the subpop crowd or something...
Kristen- I hate that you're not at work today and I can't email you. I had a dream last night that someone glued pennies and quarters to your car. weird.
now the big news. Carrie died her hair really dark yesterday. It looks so good (the picture is not so good). What a great change. My sister is beautiful. She has been going through the "i just graduated high school. now what?" thing. Doing something drastic like this is just what a girl needs to feel independent and unique. I cut my hair like a boy and so did my girlfriend felicity and look how great we turned out. :)

confessions of a broken...
So Kristen and I left our houses at 5:30 this morning to meet up for a little walk. It was really nice, aside from the scary fog. Kris, you're right...getting up early is not that bad. And I did feel better about myself.
But, I have a tiny confession to make. When I got home at 6:30 I walked into the bedroom and saw Brian all nice and warm in bed so I laid down for a little catnap before I had to get in the shower. Then I accidentally didn't wake up until 7:40!!! Does that totally negate the whole getting up early to walk thing? Because I now I feel more tired than ever.

happy happy
Today Brian turns 28...holy shit!!! We are old. He was just 21 when we first met. I remember going to dinner on our second date and reminding him that ordering a beer was okay, "dude, you're 21. you can drink!"
And now I have to remind him not to get a beer, "dude, we're fat. let's get wine instead."
I'm so lucky to have Brian in my life. I can't wait to spend the next 28 birthdays with him. (how cheesy does that sound? who cares...it's true)
Happy Birthday, B!!! I love you.

No sleep till brooklyn
Top 5 things about NY:
1.) Brian and Sonny. It was great having the boys there even if they kept me up all night. When I’m there alone I tend to go to sleep early and not venture into new neighborhoods, like Brooklyn. Having company forced me to enjoy the city a bit more. Plus, having Brian around always makes things better.
2.) The Marathon. It's so inspiring. I'm running another for sure, I called Nek and told him to start planning my workout schedule. I mean look at this guy. He has no legs and is pushing himself along on a skateboard for 26.2 miles!!! How could you not feel inspired?
3.) Hanging out with Wendi over a weekend. We had a lot of fun going out in the East Village on Saturday night then walking around a street market on Sunday. I love hanging out during the day.
4.) The walk to work. 11 blocks and 6 avenues is so revitalizing in the morning. (Kristen, count me in for the 5am walks) And I always feel like I belong when I walk amongst the suits with my big bag carrying my business documents and heels.
5.) The weather was amazing. I hardly was in need of a coat. I love that!!

drunk at murphys
My phone started smoking on Friday. So, obviously, I needed a new phone. Buy my old phone is full of pictures that I love. Last night while driving home (i know, i know so unsafe) I was emailing all of the photos to myself. I found some that reminded me of a really fun night... Brian and I stopped by Murphy's for one beer. Well, that turned into a pithcer and a call to Sonny and Kristen. They joined the fun and the four of us went through 6 or 7 pitchers. We ended up closing the bar... good times

let the truth be told...
Last night Cesca called to give me reason to live... I said, "a new season of Felicity is starting" (i have high hopes even in this my lowest point). She corrected me with great news... a new season of The Gauntlet!!! That's right, folks, I love myself some Real World/ Road Rules Challenges. If only they let the kids from Laguna Beach on the show.
But even better than trashy MTV shows is BASKETBALL!!! The new season starts tonight and I couldn't be more excited. I love Kenny, Chuck and Ernie!!!
