it's Mario....

Brian and I are no longer car owners...how strange is that? We don't have to buy gas anymore. And we don't have to sit in traffic anymore. Now when I'm on my way to/from work I can read a book, or play my DS, or play bubble breaker on my phone. The subway will suck for many reasons, but the ability to play nintendo is not one of them.

So work is a little slow. What else to do but look through my flickr pics and get sad about leaving my friends?

But how rad to come across this gem...

conflicted

Last week was the last time I'll be in New York as a visitor. Isn't that weird? In two weeks I'll be a resident. After we found, and got, our apartment Brian and I were on such a high. Friday, Saturday and Sunday were spent dreaming how we'll arrange the new place, wandering around the neighborhood and feeling so relieved that we got a rad place in a rad spot. It's truly how we envisioned ourselves living in New York. We just felt so happy.

Then we got home and last night and feelings changed a bit.
Bungalow Heaven is our home, and it seems like a mansion compared to the places we saw in New York. We love our place, living in a quiet neighborhood, with a garage, and patio. There is something to be said for living in suburbia. So I was feeling pretty sad last night, thinking about leaving our home. And I know that soon our little apartment in New York will feel like home and my feelings will change. They did after a month or so in Pasadena. But for now, I'm just sad to leave the comforts of my LA life.

Here are some pics of our new home and a taste of our new life in NY.

a place to live...

After looking at about 15 apartments, Brian and I just applied for a rad place to live. Hopefully everything will work out. We had a little bump in the road earlier this week, and I'm hoping this doesn't jinx us. This whole apartment thing is so stressful. Both of us are freaking out. Though Brian is a little worse off than me because he doesn't take "happy pills."

Thank geezus for Paxil!!

working 9 to 5...

So I started my new job this week! It's going well. A little slow to start off, but that's to be expected. The one thing that's odd is knowing that I won't be working out of this office. It feels really temporary. I'll be stoked when we get to NY and I have an office space of my own to disorganize and play loud music.

In other moving news...Brian booked our one way tickets today!!! Holy shit...ONE WAY!!! We're flying out of Long Beach on May 30. When we arrive in NY we're there for good. wow.
