The rain took a tiny vacation the past couple of days (don't worry it's back now) and we got a taste of summer. Hot, humid, gross summer. Our new apartment does not have an air conditioner yet so George and I were pretty miserable today. The poor thing doesn't even know what to do with himself, he just lays around and mopes. I went to the park today and found some shade. It was nice though I did feel bad leaving George.
Living so close to Prospect Park is rad. I mean I have no excuse not to go on a day like today. And tomorrow night MGMT is playing there. I heart you, park.

George and Mirabelle
Anna and Mirabelle came to visit yesterday. I had a such great time with this Mirabelle. She's so sweet. George was a little weirded out at first but warmed up when we started giving him treats.

excited for the new place
I went to pick up the keys for our new apartment last night. I got to the neighborhood a little early so I poked around our street a bit. I love it! There 3 cool looking bars within 1/2 block, a cute antique shop in which I got George a new food bowl, 2 mexican food places, a wine store w/ wine tasting on Thursdays, a hair dresser, a health food store and to top it off, a fabric/craft/sewing store!! All this within 1/2 a block... are you kidding me?! And do you know how many gay sex shops I saw, ZERO! We're moving up, people!
I have yet to blog about my boyfriend, Sonny, moving to San Diego. It's hard to talk about and has broken my heart a little bit. Of course I found out this news around the same time I lost my job and started weening off lexapro, not a good combo. Up until a week ago anytime I even thought about him moving I burst into tears, as I am now. So no talking about it, other than to say that I'm stoked for Sonny. I know that he's missed the water and the publishing scene a lot. Summer is the perfect time to move to southern CA, no humidity and no stinky people on the subways. But I do hope he comes back to visit soon!

George
George is a good helper when packing. He lays on the boxes to make sure they don't go anywhere. Thanks, G!
