Happy Birthday
I'm in my 30s now! Wow! Brian made a party for me last night. I came home to balloons, presents, and flowers (from Kristie and Curtis). Then Brian, Carrie, Will and I went to Prospect Park to sing-a-long to "Purple Rain." So fun! It's awesome to be in a big setting like that with everyone dancing and cheering.
"Purple Rain," for those of you who haven't seen it, stars Prince as "The Kid," a young musician just trying to make it big. I'm obsessed with this movie. When I was a kid, about 10 or 11, I got my own video rental card, without my parents knowing, and somehow was allowed to rent rated R movies. So I would sneak and rent "Purple Rain" all the time. I loved it! But it is not child friendly at all. Infact, it was almost rated X. It's full of sex, drinking, violence and great music. So fucking awesome!
At the end of the movie when Prince starts singing, "I never meant to cause you any sorrow" the whole park erupted in cheer. It was amazing and such a fun way to spend my 30th Birthday!

new job
I started a new job this week and man did I forget how exhausting it is to sit at a desk for 9 hours.
Carrie and Will are here to spend a week with us. I'm excited to spend time with my little sis, Plus, it's fun that she'll be here for my 30th birthday. 30. Dude.

Big Head Dominic
Kristen and Dominic were in town this week to meet up with Steve, he's been touring with Katy Perry. It was so fun to explore the city with them. We went to the Natural History Museum, Central Park, did some shopping in SoHo, walked through the Highline and, of course, played video games.
I love this kid! He's so sweet and smart and polite. Kristen, you've done a good job with this little dude.

Sunshine on the highline
Sunshine and Patty are in NY this week. While Brian and Patty work, Sunshine and I get to explore the city. Here she is on the new highline park. This is after we did some shopping, walking, and eating.

Funky Teddy Bear
I made this bear for Sunshine. It was made from a pattern that Grandma Patsy gave me. (that's the pattern there) I think it turned out pretty cute. I like to make everything really funky and I definitely achieved that here. The instructions on the pattern were kinda weird and I'm pretty sure the arms can be torn off very easily. But it was handmade with love and I like it!

If there is one thing I suck at it's updating this blog. It's hard to update when nothing really goes on for me day-to-day. This whole no job thing makes me feel boring. I have been sewing a lot. And hanging out with Raina on her new, awesome, roof deck. And having fun NY outings with Brian, like picnics in the park and the Met. Summer is fun!
Brian is headed to Sacramento today and I'm going on Thursday. I'm excited to see the fam and to finally meet Alli. I feel like we're going to be great friends. I'm not just writing that, she doesn't even know about this blog and I don't think Levi reads it. ha! Sunshine finished her Masters, she's a master now, so there is a big party on Saturday night that will be fun. Mostly I'm stoked to relax on the comfy couches and visit with Uncle Chris and Patty.
Then when we get back to NY Patty and Sunshine will be here. Showing Sunshine around the city will be awesome!
See this photo, look how pretty our roof is!

hola
I overheard a rad conversation today between a mom and her son. (He was probably 6 or 7). It started after they walked by a little Mexican kid on a bike. The two boys waved at each other.
Boy: how do you say "hello" in Spanish
Mom: hola
Boy: how do you say "bye" in Spanish
Mom: adios
Boy: how do you say . . .
Mom: how do you say what
Boy: how do you say everyhing
Mom: well I don't know everything but I know water. Agua.
