I work on Olympic, in between Main and Los Angeles. Broadway is the next block after Main. The May 1 boycott is scheduled to start at Olympic and Broadway. Close to a million people are expected to march on Monday. How the hell am I supposed to get to work? Normally I wouldn't complain about a forced day off but I have shit to do!

San Jose Shower
My Aunt Betsy hosted a shower for Phoebe, my cousin Rich's beautiful fiance, and I at her home in San Jose over the weekend. Abby, Carrie and I flew up on Friday night. Our flight was an hour and a half late, which wasn't a good start. But once we landed I got the news from Cesca that she was engaged. I was almost arrested in the airport for screaming so loudly. That kind of made up for the late flight.
Saturday morning we went to my cousin Thomas' baseball game. It was so cute. He played first base and got a couple of good hits. We all had a good time laughing at the completely clueless third baseman. The short stop would throw the ball at him and he would just stare blankly into space. It was awesome.
Phoebe (the bride), Meg (my cousin), Anne (my aunt), Judy, Abby, Carrie, Doris (my nana) and I showed up at Betsy's to start the festivities after the game. Betsy had yummy appetizers and plenty of wine and champagne to drink. I think we guessed about 4 bottles of champagne and 8 bottles of wine were consumed before we left for dinner at 7. Needless to say, we had fun! Phoebe and I opened a ton of awesome presents. My family is so generous. It was amazing. We played some games and then walked to downtown Willow Glen for dinner. The food was unbelievable and our waiter Corey wasn't so bad either.
After dinner we walked over to the Goosetowner for some karaoke and dancing. Phoebe and I had "bachelorette" hats and veils on. We looked like we were on our first communion. It was Carrie's first time in a bar and I think we set a high standard for her. After a glass of beer we were all on the dance floor. It was such a good time. I was singing with complete strangers, totally taking away their thunder. We all danced like maniacs. Carrie, Phoebe and I tried to rap "I Like Big Butts." apparently drunk white girls can rap!
The weekend was amazing. I'm so lucky to have such a fun, loving and giving family. Thanks to Betsy for putting it all together.
I posted pictures here.

mareeders or recheses?
Dan and Cesca are getting married! I'm so happy!! We get to be engaged at the same time and go through the hell of planning a wedding at the same time.
Who would have thought 5 years ago when we were wasted on the Sobe Bus outside G Street Pub in Davis that Dan and Cesca would get married? On the walk home from the bar that night we were trying to figure out how to get out of him coming over to my house. Good thing he was persistant. yay!!!

the shae show..
Easter Sunday was great. We celebrated the resurrection at my Aunt Laura's house. She lives in Rancho Santa Margarita, aka the hills of south orange county. It was a gorgeous day and we had a lot of fun. The highlight of the day, besides Shae, was Brian juggling. You should have heard the cheers my family gave, as if they've never seen a grown man juggle Easter eggs. It was hilarious. Shae was, as always, a total blast! She was chasing lizards, playing with the fountain, searching for eggs and roaring like a dinosaur. I posted some pictures here.

randomness...
Brian and I are registered! And I thought picking out a dress was overwhelming. We were in Crate and Barrel trying to imagine our kids eating off of various plates. wtf? We don't know how many to get or what to get or how much it should cost. And it's so weird to walk through a store with a scanner picking out stuff for other people to buy. It just seems a little not right. But that said...it was really fun. It really makes the whole thing seem real and wedding-y.
Last night we saw The Science of Sleep at a special test screening. The movie was pretty good. Funny but totally random. Nothing really gets solved at the end but whatever. Life kinda doesn't get solved in the end either. (in ricky gervais voice, "a philosopher"). Kirsten Dunst, with Mary-Jane hair, and Michel Gondry, the director, were there. But no Gael, much to my disappointment. As soon as we saw Kirsten Brian said, "oh she's on my list. Should I go talk to her?" Whatever, dude, you can't just put someone on your list because you happen to see them. The list needs to be set BEFORE you see them. I did encourage him to go talk to her, though. Better to get with her now before we get married...

love in an elevator...
I try not to talk about work here. I read dooce. I know what can happen. And do you really want to hear about how annoying work is? I mean you all work, you know it sucks! But then there are days that don't suck. So we can share those.
Fishbowl is making some changes, yo. We are "revamping" with a "rebirth" and a "relaunch" and a "re... We just recently acquired the rights to the name, some shoe store in the MW has the same name and we put the smack down. Now we can advertise, create a website (how 1997 of us), and really put the "name out there." So Dia and I are putting together a lookbook. We wanted to do something different. After a long week this is what we came up with. Thanks to Kristen for lending her hot body.

i heart felicity...
The title has nothing to do with the post. I just love felicity and wanted to make sure that you all know that.
This past weekend was great! Carrie and Tina (they're BFF fo' Life) spent the night on Friday. We went to dinner at El Portal, ate way too much food and listened to some old guys sing Guantanamera. After dinner we walked over to the movie theater to see "Thank You For Smoking." On the walk across the street all of us were complaining about all the food we ate and how full our stomachs were. Then Brian then walks directly to the concession stand and buys red vines...hilarious. The movie was pretty funny. Carrie was happy to hang out with her "brotha from another motha"
Yesterday we met up with Sonny and walked around Melrose. It was cool. Sonny and Brian wouldn't go inside Urban Outfitters because it's too Hmo. lame. We had linner at Canters, I had the best chocolate shake of my life.
Brian and I watched this documentary about MS-13 on National Geographic Saturday night. So we looked for MS-13 tags all over LA on Sunday. Dude, those fools are nuts! Wait... should I write that?

new pictures...
I just posted all sorts of photos on flickr...you can see them on my badge. It is so cool. But what is even cooler is bionicbrian. Last night I took a picture of myself with Brian's camera and then very sneaky like emailed it to his flickr account. What I didn't know was that all of his new flickr photos automatically get uploaded on bionicbrian. So now I have a dorky picture posted right on the front of bionic for all to see. But that's okay...
Back to my new pictures. I posted some from Carrie's birthday. She's 19 now.
I also posted some pictures from the weekend. Kristie, Curtis, Laura and Josh made the trek out to Pasadena and I'm so glad that they did. It was a lot of fun. Dinner at Smitty's...so good. Then some lame wine bar. good times...
