Good job on voting everyone!!! Democrats took the house, thank god, and are pretty close in the Senate. We have the first female speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, and she's a pretty liberal lady from CA.
I feel so optimistic today!!

Bloody pants

Bloody pants

Yesterday at work I backed into the broken corner of a glass table. It ripped through my pants right through my skin. I had a big gash, about 1/2" deep and 2" long. Dia had to rush me to the hospital...I got 7 stitches. The worst part is that it ruined one of my favorite pairs of jeans.

Get Mortified...
Last night Brian and I went to see Mortified at King King in Hollywood. We were a little tired driving out. I basically had to drag Brian to it. But once it started we were so glad we went.
So the deal is that people get up on stage and read from their middle school or high school journals/diaries/poems/songs, etc. I think one of the requirements is that it has to be funny. Dude, it was so awesome. The whole time I was thinking of the hilarious, pathetic crap I wrote when I was a teenager. It's embarrasing just to think about, much less get on stage and share it.
There was a guy who wrote letters to Mr. Belvedere for two years during Jr. High. A girl who wrote a "mystery" novel when she was 12. (The novel was pretty much about her stalking John Taylor, a character based on JTT...yes, that JTT.) A rich, Malibu kid who turned Rasta and thought of himself as a prophet. A girl who was in love with her AP English teacher...
The next LA Mortified is on November 13 at King King. I highly recommend you attend.

something nice.
I have certain rituals when I get to work in the morning.
1. check work email.
2. check personal email.
3. read news.
I always read The Morning News first. But today the page isn't loading for me. It's driving me nuts!!!! It's already lunch time and I feel like I haven't started my day. I need The Morning News!!!!
Speaking of news... Yesterday I was playing Brain Age when it asked me, "what was something nice that read in the news today?" It tends to ask you silly questions like this. Another one I've got yesterday was "what did you have for dinner on 8/12/06"...but I digress... So here's the sad part, I couldn't think of anything. I truly could not think of one nice thing I read in the news. And I read a lot of news. Now was it because there was nothing nice to read or was it because I'm so blinded by this weird depression I'm going through that I don't even notice nice things? Either way...that sucks!
So here's a link to a site that always something nice and nothing to do with the news.

when a girl walks in...
Happy Friday the 13th!
You all may be going out to see "The Grudge 2" tonight, or maybe you'll stay home and watch scary movies. I, on the other hand, will be home with my wimpy husband most likely watching "Elf," that's probably the scariest movie he can sit through. Maybe if I was a mean wife I would Tivo a "Grudge 2" commercial and replay it over and over and over again for Brian. He can't even handle 2 seconds of it.
I tried finding a scary pic to help celebrate. This is what I found. courtesy of bionicbrian
