Happy Anniversary!

fancy george 3, originally uploaded by b to the z.

I forgot to mention that while we were in Lake Tahoe, Brian and I celebrated our first anniversary!! Ken, Jacqueline and Audrey got a tie for George so that when we have a fancy dinner to celebrate he'll be dressed correctly. I told George he needs to use the tie to get a job...we need an extra income in New York.

longest post ever...

Brian and I had such a rad time in California.
His parents renewed their vows, in celebration of their 25th anniversary. They had the ceremony at their church. So many people came, it was awesome. Chris sang a song for Patty and the kids got up to talk. Brian mentioned that he wishes we're as happy as them in 25 years, I couldn't agree more.

After the ceremony we headed out to Lake Tahoe. We were quite the crew...Patty, Chris, Levi, Shannon, Oliver, Sunshine, Leah, Jay, Aneesa, Daniel (Patty's nephew), Grandma Jeanette (Chris' mom), Grandma Patsy and Grandpa Jim (Patty's parents), and Brian and I. Lake Tahoe was beautiful!! The water was a little cold, but that didn't stop Aneesa from swimming and begging to swim. We took the boat out to on the lake, made smores, sat around the campfire and played games. Brian and I dressed in our colors all weekend...proving that we are the BEST!!

We headed down to Long Beach after Tahoe. We got to play with our favorite baby ever, Audrey (duh!). She's the cutest thing ever. Jacqueline, Kristie, Cesca, Carrie and I took Audrey to the beach for the first time.

And before we left we took Audrey to Open Sesame. She liked the pita, the menu and Brian's beard.

Then...
Steve and Kristen got married. I think that when a designer thinks of the perfect bride in their dress, they think of Kristen. She looked stunning! Absolutely beautiful. I couldn't get over it. Steve looked so rock n' roll and handsome. They included Dominic in their ceremony, which was a nice and personal touch.
Needless to say, it was a really cool wedding.

The wedding was at The Eldorado Golf course. So the kids took all the golf balls, rose petals and some grass clippings to make this for Kristen and Steve...

Now Brian and I are home in New York. We miss our CA friends and family, but we do have this to keep us occupied

George had a whisker fall off. So Brian and I decided to enhance his senses by sticking on his head. Now he's a super cat!

George licks Brian's beard

George tries to lick Brian's beard every morning. We finally recorded it. Brian doesn't usually let him go at it for this long, but for entertainment's sake...here you go.

happy birthday to me!

I turned 28 on Monday! That's pretty old. I'm definitely in my late 20s. I feel a constant 24 though. Out of college, but not knowing what I'm going to do with my life. Meanwhile, I'm married, with a career and living in New York. When did all this happen? It's nuts!!!

My birthday weekend was really nice.
I got some super pretty flowers from Kristie and Curtis, a bouquet of Irises. They arrived on Friday, which was an awesome surprise.

On Saturday, the Hudson River Honeys went swimming, had lunch and got pedicures. Wendi made sure that my toes looked really pretty for our night out. We celebrated Raina's birthday at a burlesque club. It was fun. (but I forgot my camera) Brian and I went shopping in Soho on Sunday. He got a really pretty dress from Betsey Johnson for me.

We stopped at a little cafe and had a sandwich and beer. It was such a nice day. It's so awesome that we can just walk around a cool neighborhood and then stop at a random place for snack. We didn't really do that in LA. I feel so lucky to be living in New York. But even luckier to be living here with Brian. After shopping, we came home and I got to do my favorite thing in the whole world...take a nap with George! Then Brian and I went to Mesa Grill for dinner. It was super spicy and yummy.

And on Monday, I got a package from Jeramy. He sent some toys and yarn for George. That boy knows how obsessed with George I am...

Birthdays are fun! Thanks for all the love, folks!

George is OKAY!

relaxed, originally uploaded by b to the z.

So last night George couldn't eat and had horrible cotton mouth because of the anti drool medicine. He was not the happiest of cats for a little while there. He kept starring at the food, no doubt thinking, "Feed me, you fools!" But being hungry and sleepy made him very cuddly, which Brian and I love. We even let him lick our beard and neck. (My beard, Brian's neck.)
This morning I took him to the doctor once again. He whined the whole walk over, but was fine once we got there. They took his xrays again and everything looked great! Yesterday his belly looked like a big black jumble. But today you could see that everything had moved into his colon and his intestines looked normal. The doctor said he was really nervous that we'd see something abnormal today. Drooling that much, out of the blue, is not normal for cats. But today he seems just fine. So hopefully, we're in the clear.
We love George. And I love our little family. If something happened to either of my boys.... it would suck. a lot.

George drools

So George has been drooling the past couple of days. Brian recaps it here on bionicbrian. So start there.

When I got back from the office this afternoon there were pools of drool around the house. I waited awhile and called the doctor to see if we should take him back in. This time I took him to what will be our primary vet. They were really cool. He got some meds to stop the drooling and to loosen his stools, that's poop for those of you that don't know. George got some blood work done too and another set of xrays, much to our wallet's dismay. But it's not the same office so it was necessary. Anyway, the xrays looked a little weird, I saw them myself.
So rather than jump into surgery to find out what's in his belly causing the drooling and vomiting, we're taking him back to the doctor tomorrow morning to xray him on an empty stomach.

I hope that we're overreacting. It breaks my heart to see him so tired and drooly.

And, ps, Brian failed to tell the part about me having to jump into the tub with George to clean off his diarrhea. It was everywhere. The poor little dude.
