blah blah blah...

I feel so uninspired to write anything. On my way to work I think to myself "I really need to update btothez today." Should I write about all the homeless people I see on the drive and how sometimes I start crying at the sight of them? Should I write about how busy work is and how stressed out I am? Should I write about how lazy I am and how unhealthy I feel? All of that is so depressing, who the hell would want to read it?
What about our new place in Pasadena? okay...

Top 5 reasons I'm excited to move:
1. washer/dryer
2. kitchen w/ a window and big enough for two. (not to mention our refrigerator door will probably be able to open all the way)
3. fireplace
4. extra bedroom
5. 20 minutes closer to work
5.1. Brian will only be 5 minutes away from work. That means he can make dinner everynight. (my stomach just growled thinking of dinner. me so hungry)
5.2. No loud, drunk, college student neighbors.

Top 5 reasons I'm NOT excited to move:
1. our friends don't live in Pasadena
2. no open sesame
3. our friends don't live in Pasadena
4. no beach (not that I took advantage of it very often. but it's nice to see the ocean first thing in the morning)
5. our friends don't live in Pasadena

margaritaville

Dude. The past two weeks have been soooo busy. Work is nuts. I feel totally overwhelmed. But at least I'm making mucho moolah for this company, not that I see much of it. And I suppose busy is better than bored or tored. And if work wasn't crazy enough now I'm totally consumed w/ finding a place to live. Oh, and did I mention we are planning a wedding? I have a headache.

Let's talk about something fun...margaritas!! I love them. Brian always makes fun of me when I say that I want to relax w/ a margarita because, really, I don't drink margaritas. Though lately I've been enjoying them. The trick is get keep it on the rocks, NOT blended. (Blended gives you a brain freeze and those SUCK!! My head already hurts from all this stress.) I made tacos for Sonny and Brian the other night. We ate them with margaritas and it was yummy. So now I heart margaritas. If you don't believe me please see the picture below. I was drunk and happy and it's all due to the magical margarita (and the good company, of course)

annoyed in LA

This week is so annoying. I really don't know what else to say.

busy busy bo busy

Sundance starts tomorrow. This is the first time in 6 years Brian and I aren't going. I'm so bummed. Levi will be up there waiting in the cold for movies to start and we'll be stuck down here working. The worst part about it... we miss out on hanging out Kathleen, my little cousin. I just got home from seeing her at my Grandma's house. Just as we started bonding they had to leave for the airport. She is soooooooo cute!! Such a tough little girl. She makes Shae look so wimpy. Next year we are going to Sundance. And by that time Kathleen will be 2 1/2 and talking!!
At least we're going to Cabo and on a (tbd) honeymoon this year!!

i heart new york...

New York was great! The weather was amazing!! Work was exhausting. I always feel like such a loser while I'm there. Rather than go out every night enjoying the city, I end up going to an early dinner and falling asleep by 11:00. It's hilarious. I did go out with Wendi on Tuesday...we got hammered. It was not planned but so fun! We opted to steer clear of "Two for Tuesdays" to support our new year's diet. But I don't think eating nachos and having 10 drinks keeps the weight off. And I know the 1am walk to Duane Reade for Cheez-its didn't help. good times...

I was so tired on the flight home...I was crying through The Parent Trap. (Shake says it well, I feel sooo emootioonaallll.) Dude, that movie kinda sucks. Susan and Sharon were really mean to Vicky, their would-be stepmom. Vicky is a bitch but come on. They put honey on her feet and tie her up while she's sleeping so the bears can get to her. Hello, bears ATTACK people. I can't imagine the relationship between human and bear was that much different in 1961. And then Hecky plays it off "oh, those little bear cubs wouldn't hurt you." Um, their mom would.
And last time I checked punching your ex-husband in the face is not cool. Maggie does not know how to win her love back. And why is that only Verbena and the dog can tell that the twins switched. Shouldn't a parent realize these things. I'm so sure the girls would have the same mannerisms. And what are these names? Hecky and Verbena?

Am I really analyzing The Parent Trap?

I don't even like football...

Dude last night was intense!! Brian and I watched the 2nd half of the Rose Bowl game. We don't watch football and haven't seen a game all season but this game had hype so we had to watch it... and holy crap it was nuts!!

Sometimes when I watch basketball, especially during the playoffs, my heart starts pounding and I have trouble breathing because I'm so excited and stressed out. The same thing happened last night. When that one dude walked the ball over the end zone I almost threw up. I could really care less about USC football but I was so sad to see them lose. But they lost a good game so I guess that counts for something. And how much sweeter is the championship for Texas after stealing it from the best team in the country?

my condolences to The King and Katie!

pf cooper...

Man, it's hard to come back to work after a nice relaxing weekend! I keep dreaming about my couch and a book. I had a such a great New Years... mucho wine and laughs at Biggs then mucho champagne at Kristen and Steve's place. It was really fun and mellow and I was happy to ring in the new year w/ my bestest buddies. And nothing beats laying on the couch until 3pm on Sunday then going to PF Changs with my two best guys.

I have to start talking about it before I go crazy at work...

goodbye 2005...

Last Jan. my horoscope (from same lame mag) read:

"Until you open yourself to what is hidden in your own being, it's hard to know who you really are," fellow Leo Tori Amos has said. With your house of creativity bursting, it's time to discover your inner artist. Start a journal, learn to sculpt, buy a be-dazzler (we didn't say it had to be fine art!).

I love this. I was so happy when I read it I immediately cut it out and pasted on the front page of my planner. I'm not sure that found my inner artist but I think I'm getting closer to find what's hidden inside me.
2005 was a great year for me. My career started to really blossom, I've worked hard and my success is starting to show. I followed through with a big goal this year, running the marathon, and I'm so proud of myself for accomplishing it. But I think the most important and significant thing came towards the end of the year... Everyone knows I'm not a big "get married" person and I would have been happy to just live w/ B and "play married" for a long time. But now that we're actually engaged I couldn't be happier. I am really blessed to have him in my life.

Hopefully 2006 brings as much happiness as this past year...

and to all a good night...

I'm a lazy bride and a lazy blogger...
Christmas was nice, especially since I finally got to spend it with Brian. We did a lot of relaxing, eating and watching TV at his parent's house. They have the MOST comfortable couches. Levi got this game "Scene It" from Santa. It's so fun. Brian and I won because we are the best at everything. And we're especially great at beating his brother. :)
I took Tuesday off of work which was awesome. I had lunch w/ Kristen and Dominic. Dom gave me a penny for xmas, he's so sweet. Kristen framed this cool design for our house, she's so talented. The rest of the day was spent reading and sleeping. Then Christmas at my mom's that night. It was a perfect day off.
Tonight I'm foxy-sitting. My mom has already made and put chicken and rice into little baggies for me to feed foxy. The woman is nuts. Normal people would just point to the bag of dog food and say "just put some in her bowl." But foxy gets the royal treatment and has home-made food for every day. It's insane. I never thought my mom would be so psycho about a dog. But then again, she did have a poodle named Petey that she took with her to college classes. My dad used to call him Petey-faggot.

Carnival cruise...

On Sunday my mom, Carrie and I went to a wedding on the Carnival Cruise ship. Brittany Strong, an old family friend, married Cody. (they are a super cute hipster couple from Portland.) The wedding took place in the Carnival Cruise Ship Chapel at 1:30. But we had to get to the ship at 10:30 to board before the sailing passengers. As it turned out we didn't get on the ship until 12, which meant hanging out in front of the spruce goose dome for an hour and a half. not fun. Once we got on the ship we still had an hour and a half to kill. Judy found the bar while Carrie and I roamed the vacant ship. I had never been on a cruise ship so I was entertained for about 5 seconds but then our boredom got the best of us and we ended up taking fake dead pictures all over the place. It was so much fun.

The reception was in the disco...hilarious. It started at 2:00 and we were forced to leave the ship at 3:15. So it was a wedding reception on speed. But they did everything- first dance, bouquet toss, garter toss, cut the wedding cake (before we even ate), money dance... everything in an hour and 15 minutes. It was fun but 3 hours is a long time to wait for a wedding to start.

Here are some pictures... you can catch the rest on Flickr
